“Bloodhounds the Movie, Young Citizen Patriots: A Test of Faith and Bravery Part 1”

On September 11, 2001, the world changed forever.

We’ve all heard that phrase over and over again since the terrorist attacks on that fateful day, and we, as adults, each have an idea of what that means to us. For some, this change in the world meant we were able to find a new sense of patriotism, a new love for our country; for others, it meant we needed to start keeping an even more vigilant eye on the occurrences around us in our everyday lives, ever watchful for signs of a new attack.

But what did it mean for the children?

In our society, children and young adults are often forgotten when it comes to political and societal changes and crises. We often both try and protect them, which often, in turn, shields them from reality, or we simply treat them as if they have nothing valid to offer. The problem with both scenarios, though, is that they will hear things, they will form opinions – and often, they will base those opinions on whoever has the loudest voice.

This new movie lets young people know that they have a voice, too, and that their voice matters. Our involvement of the Muslim community also helps foster a positive image of a religion and a people that are so much more than the few radical terrorists with the loudest voices.

We welcome your comments here, and we would love to spark a dialogue about what we feel is one of the most important issues facing us today.
